Inaugural episode features Deloitte CEO Cathy Engelbert as she shares her perspectives on leadership

Washington, DC – The Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) today launched an online video series that aims to highlight critical issues facing the public company auditing profession and the markets. Hosted by CAQ Executive Director Cindy Fornelli, Profession in Focus will feature interviews with an array of thought leaders from the auditing profession, corporate governance world, investor community, the regulatory arena, academia, and other important constituencies with a connection to the financial reporting process.

“It is an exciting and transformative time for the public company auditing profession,” said the CAQ’s Fornelli. “Profession in Focus will serve as another vehicle for the profession and the CAQ to engage with key stakeholders and further the dialogue.”

The CAQ is honored to feature Cathy Engelbert, CEO of Deloitte LLP, in the inaugural episode of Profession in Focus. Engelbert, the first female chief executive of a large, global accounting and advisory firm, sat down with Fornelli to share her views on leadership.

Said Engelbert: “When you think about leadership styles, for me it was about being collaborative, in a competitive way. I grew up one of eight children—so I had to really ‘compete’ around the household, and I think that has carried through to my professional life. I also played sports in college, and that has taught me how important it is to be a leader and role model for your team. In our profession, it is our responsibility to lead our team and clients—and essentially make an impact on them.”

Profession in Focus is available at thecaq.org and on the CAQ’s YouTube Channel
