IOSCO: Consultation Report on Good Practices for Audit Committees in Supporting Audit Quality

In this letter to the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the CAQ expresses its support for IOSCO’s view that the quality of financial reports, supported by an independent external audit, is key to confident and informed investors and markets. “Audit committees play an essential role in protecting the interests of investors by broadly overseeing a company’s financial reporting process,” says the letter, which highlights a range of good practices for audit committees in supporting audit quality, as well as recent trends in audit committee reporting.
