CAQ’s Fornelli to Address “Disclosure Overload” at 8th Annual Capital Markets Summit

Wednesday, March 19, 2014

Washington, D.C. – Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) Executive Director Cindy Fornelli will be a speaker at the “Disclosure Overload and Corporate Governance” panel, moderated by former SEC Commissioner Troy Paredes, at the 8th Annual Capital Markets Summit hosted today by the Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness.

“The public company auditing profession supports SEC Chairman Mary Jo White’s efforts to strike the right balance on corporate disclosure and look forward to hearing her remarks at the Summit,” said Fornelli. “Today’s panel discussion offers the opportunity to explore ways to ‘right-size’ disclosure so that investors’ needs are met, while allowing businesses to expand, innovation to flourish, and America to maintain its role as a global capital markets leader.”

Fornelli recently authored a LinkedIn Influencer blog on corporate governance disclosure. During her panel from 10:00 to 11:00 this morning at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, she will share these perspectives and others on the future of corporate disclosure and the need to approach disclosure in a holistic manner.
