CAQ’s Executive Director Named to Washington Literacy Center Board of Directors

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Washington, D.C. – CAQ Executive Director Cindy Fornelli has been appointed to the Washington Literacy Center (WLC) Board of Directors for a two-year term.

Fornelli is an ardent supporter of the organization and its mission to raise the literacy level of adults in Washington D.C., such that they may function on the job, in the family, and in society.

“I am honored to serve on the board of an organization that has touched so many lives and families in such a powerful way,” said Fornelli. “Literacy is something that many of us take for granted, but for others in our community it is a gift that can transform lives dramatically. I welcome the opportunity to support and help guide the WLC.”

On August 13, Fornelli (center with WLC students) delivered a CAQ donation of 12 computers to the Washington Literacy Center. The computers will be used to support student learning using online programs and to help with resume development and job searches.
