CAQ’s #AuditorProud Campaign Wins Communication Innovation Award

Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Washington, DC – The Public Affairs Council has awarded the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) its Communication Innovation Award for 2017, honoring the CAQ’s leadership role in the auditing profession’s second annual #AuditorProud social media blitz. The award recognizes outstanding communications initiatives that excel in creativity, inclusiveness, innovation, and organizational relevance.

“The CAQ is pleased to accept this award on behalf of our many members and partners who helped make this year’s #AuditorProud day both a communications success and a joyous event,” said CAQ Executive Director Cindy Fornelli. “We look forward to building on #AuditorProud, which each year helps illuminate for students and others why the auditing profession is an exciting and rewarding career.”

Using the #AuditorProud hashtag, thousands of auditors from more than 100 countries took to social media on September 22, 2016, to share personal stories of why they chose a career in auditing, what they love about the profession, and what makes them proud to be an auditor. The campaign was a part of the CAQ’s broader efforts to help the auditing profession continue to attract the best and brightest.

The CAQ also launched a new website along with the social media blitz, DiscoverAudit.org, which provides a wealth of information about careers in public company auditing, opportunities the profession offers, and how to join the next generation of auditors. The website served as destination on the day of the blitz and continues to be a valuable asset for students, teachers, counselors, and parents.

According to the Public Affairs Council, the Public Affairs Innovation Awards recognize top organizations in the following categories: Outstanding PAC, Grassroots Innovation, Communications Innovation, and Engagement Strategy Innovation.
