Matthew J. Sickmiller, CPA is Senior Manager, Professional Practice at the Center for Audit Quality. His duties include preparing comment letters on key federal regulatory policy proposals issued by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), Securities and Exchange Commission, and International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board; developing technical content and thought leadership for new and emerging auditing and financial reporting issues; coordinating activities and meetings of the committees, task forces, and working groups involving member firms and stakeholders; and responding to technical inquiries from member firms regarding public company auditing.
Before joining the CAQ, Sickmiller served as an Inspections Specialist for the PCAOB. He has also worked at PwC as a Financial Services Auditor and sold construction products for several years before obtaining his CPA license.
Sickmiller holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Cincinnati and an accounting certificate from the University of Virginia. He is licensed as a CPA in Virginia.
