Senior Director of Communications
Erica Hurtt is the Senior Director of Communications at the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ). She oversees the CAQ’s public affairs strategy, executive communications, publications and reports production and marketing, advertising, media relations, and digital media initiatives. Previously, Hurtt served as the Senior Vice President of Communications for the Financial Services Forum, where she developed multi-faceted industry communications campaigns during high-profile and historic consideration of post-crisis financial regulatory reform. She also was the Vice President of Communications at the Clearing House, a payments system and association of large and regional commercial banks. Hurtt spent the first decade of her career working as a broadcast journalist from Helena, Montana (KXLF) to the Czech Republic (Radio Free Europe). Hurtt’s reporting earned several awards from the Associated Press, Society of Professional Journalists, and an Emmy for her live coverage of a major explosion at a grain elevator. She holds a BA in communications and media from Loyola University Maryland and a MS in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
