Washington, D.C. —Allison M. Patti, CPA, has joined the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) as Senior Director of Professional Practice, Policy & Research. A partner at Deloitte LLP and a former Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Ms. Patti will help guide the CAQ’s member services, professional practice and public policy activities during her one-year fellowship.
“We are thrilled to welcome Allison to the CAQ. Her experience as an auditor and as a regulator, with expertise in global accounting matters, will greatly enhance the CAQ’s efforts to serve investors in the United States and worldwide,” said CAQ Executive Director Cindy Fornelli. “Allison will be actively engaged in coordinating the CAQ’s professional practice activities, spearheading research initiatives and serving as a profession liaison with the SEC and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.”
During her two-year appointment in the Office of the Chief Accountant, Patti focused on international financial reporting, including the use of International Financial Reporting Standards in the U.S. capital markets, and international auditing considerations. Prior to joining the SEC, Ms. Patti spent 10 years at Deloitte LLP, most recently serving as a technical consultant to engagement teams and clients in complex accounting and financial reporting matters. She is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland.
Ms. Patti is the second participant in the CAQ’s professional practice fellowship program, which is conducted in collaboration with the CAQ’s member firms. She succeeds the inaugural CAQ fellow, Josh K. Jones of Ernst & Young LLP (E&Y) who will assist her as she transitions into the role over the summer. Like Ms. Patti, Mr. Jones served as a Professional Accounting Fellow at the SEC before joining the CAQ.
“Josh has set the bar high for future CAQ Professional Practice Fellows. We are grateful for his many contributions to the CAQ’s mission of fostering audit quality and collaborating with capital market stakeholders,” said Ms. Fornelli. “We will miss his expertise and camaraderie but appreciate all of his hard work in laying such a strong foundation for a successful CAQ fellowship program. We look forward to working with Josh in his role as partner at E&Y.”
