CAQ Statement on Elections of New Deloitte US CEO and Chair

Washington, DC – Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) Executive Director Cindy Fornelli issued the following statement in response to the announcement from Deloitte US regarding the election of Joseph Ucuzoglu as chief executive officer and Janet Foutty as chair of the board, effective June 2, 2019:
“The CAQ congratulates Joe and Janet on their well-deserved elections. Throughout their distinguished careers, both these individuals have demonstrated integrity, leadership, and foresight.
“As Chair and CEO of Deloitte & Touche LLP, Joe has been a strong and articulate voice on the public company auditing profession’s critical role in the capital markets and how the profession works continually to improve that role for the benefit of investors and others. We look forward to working with Joe as he succeeds Cathy Engelbert as Deloitte’s representative on the CAQ’s Governing Board.
