CAQ Congratulates Mark Kronforst and Daniel Murdock on Recent SEC Appointments

Washington, D.C. – The Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) issued the following statement by Executive Director Cindy Fornelli in reaction to the appointment of Mark Kronforst as the SEC’s Chief Accountant of its Division of Corporation Finance and Daniel Murdock as Deputy Chief Accountant. 

“I am pleased to congratulate Mark Kronforst on his appointment as the SEC’s chief accountant of its Division of Corporation Finance. I have had the privilege of working with Mark and know his breadth of experience, both in the private sector and at the Commission, will enable him to address the many complex reporting and disclosure issues facing the Division.

“Additionally, the SEC has gained another valued leader with the appointment of Daniel Murdock as a deputy chief accountant in the agency’s Office of the Chief Accountant.

“Daniel has extensive financial reporting experience that will be a great asset in his role advising the Commission on accounting and auditing matters.

“The public company auditing profession looks forward to working with Mark and Daniel in their important new roles.”
