ACCA: Creating Value Through Governance

The CAQ supports the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants line of inquiry posed in its consultation paper Creating Value Through Governance—Towards a New Accountability. In its answer to several questions — “Is lack of trust a problem? What should policymakers, businesses, and investors do to restore trust?” — the CAQ affirms that trust and investor confidence are indispensable elements of sound and vibrant capital markets. While investor confidence in capital markets is improving, enhancing transparency throughout the financial supply chain by updating disclosures in the auditor’s report, and continuing voluntary efforts to expand audit committee disclosures would help maintain the momentum.
