Professional Practice Executive Committee

Our Mission

The Professional Practice Executive Committee (PPEC) consists of a representative from each CAQ member firm that audits 100 or more issuers, including a representative from the Association of International Certified Public Accountants. Additional representatives from the remaining member firms are appointed by the Chief Executive Officer of the CAQ, in consultation with the Chair of the PPEC. Representatives from CAQ associate member firms are not eligible to serve on the committee.

Objectives

The objectives of the PPEC are to:

  • Provide a forum for member firms to express their views on technical regulatory and standard setting matters involving practice before the SEC and the PCAOB and advocate positions on behalf of member firms.
  • Enhance the quality of member firms’ public company audit practices through:
    • The development of educational information and tools, the communication of SEC/PCAOB developments, and the sharing of best practices.
    • Liaise on behalf of the profession with the SEC and PCAOB to communicate member firms’ views on SEC and PCAOB matters.
