Tom is the chief executive officer (CEO) of FAF Advisors and president of First American Funds. Tom was appointed CEO in 2000 and orchestrated the successful merger of the asset management divisions of U.S. Bancorp and Firstar. Under his leadership, FAF Advisors has become a leading investment advisor, with a strong performance-driven culture and an award-winning fund family. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Tom served in senior leadership roles at Piper Jaffray and as a member of the management committee that brought the firm’s equity group to national prominence. He had previously been a top-ranked senior airline equity analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York. Prior to that, he held the position of vice president of finance at Northwest Airlines, responsible for corporate finance, pension, cash, and credit transactions. Tom received a B.A. in economics and German from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. Tom serves as director, chairman of the finance committee, and member of the audit committee for Pinnacle Airlines Corp. He is also chairman of the Saint Thomas Academy board of trustees, an advisory board member of Granite Global Ventures, and a member of the Applied Investment Management Advisory Board for the University of Notre Dame. |
