Three-quarters of certified financial advisors favor Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX), according to a 2017 Pulse Poll from the Center for Audit Quality.
Among the poll's other key findings are the following:
- 82 percent of financial advisors feel SOX has improved the reliability of investment information.
- Three-quarters (73 percent) also agree that if all public companies were required to have an independent audit of this information, it would benefit them and their clients.
The online survey was fielded by Porter Novelli/Qualtrics, February 23–27, 2017. A total of 300 qualified practicing financial advisors completed the survey.
