CAQ Congratulates Chairman White, SEC Commissioners Piwowar and Stein

Washington, D.C. – The Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) issued the following statement by Executive Director Cindy Fornelli in support of Senate confirmation of Mary Jo White, Michael Piwowar and Kara Stein to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC):

“The CAQ and the public company auditing profession congratulate Mary Jo White on her confirmation to a five-year term as the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Chairman White has a proven record of enforcing the law in our capital markets and working diligently to protect investors. 

“Additionally, the CAQ issues its congratulations to Michael Piwowar and Kara Stein on their confirmation to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Stein and Dr. Piwowar are committed to serving the public interest and bring significant Congressional experience and financial markets knowledge that will be of great value to the SEC as it works to protect investors and enhance America’s capital markets.
